Making YOU a Priority - a fundamental Act of Self-Love
*Do you put “yourself”; in your calendar, schedule or diary?
*Do you commit time for the activities, that sustain your mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, social well-being? and then HONOUR your COMMITMENT to YOURSELF?
*Do you make YOU a priority in your day and your life???
I know for me, if I don’t allocate time for my daily walk on the beach, my spiritual practice and blocks of time for “being on my own”, I begin to feel scattered and uncentred, I am grumpy and take it out on the people I love and my “Inner Critic” begins to take over my inner dialogue!
Making Yourself a Priority can be...
Saying YES to the things that UPLIFT YOU
Saying NO to that meeting that you really don’t need to attend
Prioritising the things that are in line with your Professional and Personal Aspirations, Your Values or What is Important to You
Putting YOU in your diary, putting you on your to-do list
Having CLEAR boundaries at work and home
“Finishing your workday” even when you are working from home.
Saying No to a request from your child, husband, mother -in law, friend etc..(and not feeling guilty)
NOT “over-giving” or “over-preparing”, or “over-working”...
I believe making ourselves a priority is a fundamental ACT of SELF- LOVE.
When we make ourselves a Priority, we are VALUING ourselves, we are HONOURING ourselves, we are saying WE MATTER.
Many of us make the people in our lives that we love –for example our children, our partners, our friends… a priority, but often we do not show ourselves the same care and attention.
My personal theme for 2023 is SELF-LOVE.. this is a biggie, so I will be doing more posts this year on the many aspects and ACTS of SELF LOVE, my successes, insights and the challenges I am facing, stay tuned!
