21 Acts of SELF-HONOUR
At my last “Midweek Mindfulness for Women”, after 25 minutes of guided mindfulness, we talked about what Self-Honour meant to each of us, how we enact and embody Self-Honour and I shared my thoughts and these “21 ACTS of SELF HONOUR for women. Here are my thoughts below….
If we honour ourselves
We listen to ourselves, trust ourselves/our mind/our intuition/our knowledge/our hunches,
We ask ourselves what we want or need,
We certainly don’t put ourselves down (outwardly or inwardly). We talk to ourselves kindly and respectfully,
We respect our decisions, we respect our choices, our values, our time, our body, our feelings, our opinions,
We respect our wisdom, our learnings, our experiences and our experience,
We Value ourselves– we look after ourselves- we nurture ourselves,
We respect our limitations,
We accept ALL of us.. our “shadow side”… we accept our quirks, our uniqueness….,
We regularly ask ourselves what we need or want,
We make ourselves a priority,
We have clear boundaries – this is what I can do/ this is what I can’t do. We say YES to what we want, we say NO to what we don’t want or can.t do or what is inappropriate,
We don’t put up with bad behaviour from others,
We are choosy about who we spend time with, we honour our life force…,
We have relationships that are respectful,
We “revere” ourselves…. We understand our sacredness.. we understand and know our unique combination of skills, strengths, virtues, achievements, values, what is important to us…
We take time to rest,
We take time for us,
We make time for the things that are important to us… walk, or dance or sing, or sew, or read, or cook… whatever is our thing that gives us joy,
We act as if we matter,
We share what we need with others, we respect others and what they need,
We honour others …..
